Most of my work is done for my wonderful clients. Due to demand and the current era in which we live pretty much all of this work is in digital format. I love digital photography. The freedom it allows has opened up the world of photography in irreversible ways. However, in this time of instagram and iPhones I think we need to remember just what all those filters we so casually apply are trying (and usually failing) to fake.* There is long, full and rich history of photography processes that create unique and individual aesthetics. I love that photography allows for so many beautiful and intriguing visual styles. Below are some of the alternative processes I have had the opportunity to explore. Future fine art projects are under way using parts of these processes. I can't help but be drawn to the mash-up of art and pseudo-chemistry that most of these interesting forms of expression employ.
* I love all of those filters, I use them all the time. Critical thinking need not supersede convenience, creativity or enjoyment.**
** Yes I'm using footnotes, shout out to Terry Pratchet. One of my favorite authors and master of the footnote.
