This book project explores three types of portraiture. All of the subjects in the book were asked to write their beliefs on acetate so that they could be printed using the cyanotype process. A photo of each person's ear was also printed in cyanotype. Many cultures consider the ear to be symbol of wisdom. I wanted to illustrate this while also exploring the forms of one of the most overlooked body parts. The facial portraits of each person were printed using the gum bichromate process. Using digital photographs to generate cmyk negatives the prints take about 8 hours each and are full color.
